Kavanaugh Gets 51 Votes for Supreme Court Nomination

Controversial nominee Brett Kavanaugh now has the 51 votes needed to be confirmed to the Supreme Court. Republican Susan Collins of Maine announced her support for the nomination during Senate debate. That means this weekend 50 Republicans and 1 Democrat, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, will vote yes. 48 Democrats and 1 Republican, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, will vote no. The vote could take place by late Saturday afternoon, but the fallout is far from over.
