An Oakland police officer is suing the city, the Oakland Police Department, and Mayor Libby Schaaf, saying they retaliated against him for investigating another police officer who may have killed his own wife. The legal complaint says Oakland and the police department retaliated against a decorated murder inspector in order to punish him for interrogating another police officer he suspected of killing his wife, and to deflect attention from allegations that Oakland police officers sexually exploited a young woman then known as Celeste Guap.
