Stop the New SF Jail Coalition Unveils New Plan to Reduce SF's Reliance on Jails

Prison reform activists launched a plan to reduce incarceration in San Francisco. The plan would shift funding for incarceration and invest in social services instead. The coalition argues San Francisco's most vulnerable populations are criminalized, and call for City policies to prioritize preventative action - including long term housing, substance abuse services, and harm reduction housing, substance use services, and harm reduction models. The plan is gaining support from city officials.
