Gun Control on Ballot in California, Other States

A move to overturn recently-enacted gun laws has failed. The California Secretary of State says proponents of a referendum failed to gather enough signatures to put the measure on the ballot in 2018. That means six new gun control laws can go into effect in January. Voters will also get to weigh in on a new gun and ammunition control measure this November, when Proposition 63 will be on the ballot.
