Lawmakers Looks at Deadly Diseases Affecting Asian Pacific Islanders

Cancer is the leading cause of death in the Asian Pacific Islander community. The Centers for Disease Control says Asian Americans are the first, and so far only, racial or ethnic group to experience cancer as the leading cause of death. A state senate subcommittee met in San Francisco to discuss how to reduce the high rates of death from preventable cancers.
