Commission May Give CCSF More Time to Fix Accrediting Woes

City College of San Francisco may stay open. The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges is poised to adopt new rules that could give city college two more years to meet accreditation standards. The commission threatened to strip city college of its accreditation at the end of next month but has changed course under public pressure. Students and faculty have organized protests against the commission and city, state and congressional lawmakers including Nancy Pelosi have voiced opposition to the school's closure. Nick St. Charles filed this report.
