Consumer Watchdog, a non-profit and non-partisan consumer advocacy group, released a report today which claims that the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline expansion project would be a hit on the American economy by increasing gas prices.
TransCanada, the company that plans to build the Keystone XL expansion, says the pipeline can actually help lower gas prices. The proposed pipeline would stretch 1,700 miles from Alberta, Canada to refineries in the Gulf of Texas and carry 900,000 barrels of tar sands oil every day.
