A Southern California family is calling for the prosecution of an officer who killed their loved one in a case of a mistaken identity. Downey police shot and killed unarmed 31-year-old Michael Nida nearly a year ago, but Los Angeles County D.A. Steve Cooley has yet to release his investigation into the incident. Today, the family of Nida held a protest outside of the L.A. County DA’s office. Pacifica KPFK’s Ernesto Arce has more from Los Angeles.
