L.A. City Votes in Two-Tier Pension System

Hundreds of city workers protested inside and outside Los Angeles City Hall today in opposition to a pension reform measure before the city council that creates a lower-tier plan for new workers. The City Council passed the measure unanimously. Lawyers for the Coalition of City Unions have threatened to sue over the action, which they say is a violation of their right to collective bargaining. The city and the coalition will try to work out a compromise over the next month, ahead of a final vote by the council in October. Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
