Delta Film Provides Vehicle to Advocates

Governor Jerry Brown may have, without intending, ignited a new California water war with his decision to build two large tunnels under the Bay Delta. The Delta Plan has the two goals of providing water the state’s thirsty regions, and to restore the Delta ecosystem. Opponents of Brown’s plan include the region’s cities, farmers, the fishing industry, and statewide environmental groups. They promise to use any means they can, to fight the tunnels. They launched a statewide offensive Wednesday night in Sacramento with the Premiere of the film “Over Troubled Waters”. It’s a documentary overview of the challenges facing the region. Advocates hope the film will help win the hearts and minds of Californians. Vic Bedoian was there and has this report.
