Women’s health advocates gathered in downtown LA this morning to highlight the benefits of a maternity coverage law that went into effect on Sunday.
Those who celebrated the enactment of Senate Bill 222 say state lawmakers made the right decision to ensure prenatal care and maternity coverage for women regardless of their health insurance policies.
Advocates say California is a positive example for the country in the face of what they say are renewed attacks to a woman’s access to reproductive healthcare.
