M.T.C. Votes Down Free M.U.N.I. For Youth

The Bay Area's Metropolitan Transportation Commission narrowly voted down a M.U.N.I. pilot project that would allow low-income minors in San Francisco to ride for free. Community organizations and young people attended today's meeting to pressure the M.T.C. to vote in favor of the proposal. The vote comes weeks after the M.T.C.'s approval of a $19 million transbay ferry, which cost nearly four times M.U.N.I.'s proposed pilot project. Alex Kekauoha reports.
