California State Parks Saved from Budget Cuts

State officials have announced that 65 of the 70 state parks slated for closure this weekend will temporarily stay open.
Governor Jerry Brown allocated $10 million to keep the parks open despite vetoing a funding bill that would have given the agency $41 million this fiscal year.
The California Department of Parks and Recreation has proposed revenue generating ideas to prevent the closure of what it calls the Magnificent 70.
Pacifica KPFK’s Ernesto Arce has more from Los Angeles.
