Farm Workers urge California Governor to Sign Fair Treatment Act

Farm workers and their allies gathered at Los Angeles City Hall this morning to urge Governor Jerry Brown to sign SB 104, the Fair Treatment for Farm Workers Act. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, actor Martin Sheen and other community leaders marched along with the United Farm Workers to the state building in downtown LA. The UFW says working conditions on California fields haven’t improved much since the union gained fame for organizing farm workers in the 1960s. Pacifica’s Ernesto Arce files this report from Los Angeles.
