Supreme Court Nomination Hearing Sparks Chaos

The opening day of hearings on President Donald Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court opened with fireworks. Democrats blasted the hearing process as a charade and mockery, while one Republican suggested if it were a court of law the Democratic members would be held in contempt. The hottest debate was not about nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but rather about more than a hundred thousand pages of documents that were either withheld from the committee or declared confidential, meaning they cannot be revealed or discussed publicly.
