Single Payer Supporters Urge Assembly Action on Senate Healthcare Bill

Hundreds of single payer health care supporters rallied at the state capitol Wednesday, urging Senate leader Anthony Rendon to let a universal healthcare bill move forward for debate and an Assembly vote. Assembly speaker Rendon has acted to hold the measure in committee without a vote, days after it passed out of the Senate. He says he took the action because the bill lacks key details like how to fund the plan.
