Immigrant rights activists in California are rallying behind a bill aimed at getting the state out of the business of deportation. Democratic Senate leader Kevin de Leon’s bill would ensure that state and local resources are not used to fuel mass deportations, protecting California’s immigrants from immigration policies of the incoming Trump administration.
