SF Measure Would Provide Lawyers for Undocumented Immigrants

Some San Francisco officials are proposing a new five million dollar program to defend undocumented immigrants facing deportation hearings. It’s the latest move to protect the sanctuary city’s immigrants under a new Trump administration. Several members of the Board of Supervisors joined the city’s Public Defender and immigrant rights activists at city hall to announce their push for a program similar to one already adopted by New York City.
