Hillary Clinton is leading Donald Trump by a wide margin in California, 54 per cent to 28 per cent. In the senate race between two Democrats, Kamala Harris is leading Loretta Sanchez by 42 to 20 per cent. That’s according to a new poll by the Public Policy Institute of California. The poll looked at the presidential and senate races, along with four ballot propositions. The polls show support for measures to legalize marijuana, hike the tax on cigarettes, and continue a tax on high-income Californians. But the numbers may also spell trouble for republican candidates in down-ballot races for congress and the state legislature.
