Plastic Bag Ban Draws Competing Ballot Initiatives

California voters will get to weigh in on the issue of a California ban on plastic grocery bags when they go the polls in November. In fact, they’ll get to vote on the issue not once, but twice. One measure, Proposition 67, would uphold California’s law banning most single use plastic bags. Another proposition would specify how the money is spent, a measure ban supporters call a cynical attempt to confuse voters and kill the ban by other means.
