California voters will get to weigh in this November on whether to abolish the state’s death penalty, or to speed up the execution process. Prop 62 would end the death penalty and replace it with the sentence of life without the possibility of parole. Prop 66 is a competing measure aimed at speeding up the death penalty process. California’s ballot battle over executions comes at the same time several other states will see related ballot measures.
