Anti-Nuclear Rally at Livermore Lab Commemorates Attack on Nagasaki

Today is the 71st anniversary of the U.S. bombing of Nagasaki – and over one hundred individuals gathered outside the Lawrence Livermore National Lab to shut down the lab’s west gate, protesting the U.S.'s nuclear weapons policies. The crowd listened to Nagasaki survivor Nobuaki Hanaoka as well as famous whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, who, looking ahead, warned that Donald Trump’s Presidential candidacy poses “the possibility of a maniac getting control of nuclear weapons.” Pacifica’s Paulina Velasco files this report from Livermore.
