SF Panel Reports Systemic Bias in Police Department, Lack of Transparency and Oversight

According to a new report release today, the San Francisco Police Department is in need of greater transparency, lacks robust oversight and must pay greater attention to a bias against people of color. The report was released by the Blue Ribbon Panel on Transparency, Accountability and Fairness in Law Enforcement, comprised of three high level judges it concludes a yearlong investigation into the extent of the Departments' bias in the wake of the scandal last year involving SFPD officers exchanging racist and homophobic text messages.
