Oakland Seeks Police Accountability with new Police Commission


A charter amendment designed to bring more oversight and accountability to the Oakland Police department is set to pass out of committee today. As more details come to light surrounding a scandal and potential cover up in which 14 officers are accused of having sex with an underage prostitute. Community activists have been joined by members of the city council in demanding a police commission to exercise citizen oversight of a police force that has lost the trust of its community.
