Oakland Honors the Black Panther Party

Oakland is kicking off events marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther party. Former Panthers joined with Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and others to announce activities. They include an "African Americans Making Connections" symposium at Laney College, an exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California, and on October 23rd, the renaming of a significant portion of DeFemery Park as Bobby Hutton Grove.
