University of California Lecturers rallied today in front of the administration building at the Berkeley campus today. Lecturers teach about a third of the classes in the University of California system but are considered temporary staff with out benefits. Lecturers, Union members, professors and students came from a few of the northern California campuses to support the union negotiators who are currently in the ninth month of bargaining with the administration to get contracts for lecturers.
