The Pope landed at Joint Base Andrews this afternoon, marking the beginning of a six-day tour from New York to Philadephia. While he was greeted by the President and arrived to a red carpet in Washington, the stir he's causing in California has to do with tomorrow's canonization of Reverend Junipero Serra. Serra's legacy of evangelism in the California Mission system is hotly contested by native peoples who view him as the face of colonization and even genocide in the state.
