Tighter Vaccination Law Wins Approval in Health Committee

A state senate committee has approved a measure that would bar most parents from opting out of vaccinations for their children because of their personal beliefs. The controversial measure comes after a recent measles outbreak and calls for more efforts to increase vaccination rates. Opponents came out in force at a hearing on the bill, calling it measure a violation of parents’ rights. Christopher Martinez reports from Sacramento.
