Fracking Study Says Half of New Wells are Fracked

About half of the oil wells being drilled in California use hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” a controversial method of injecting water and chemicals into wells in order to squeeze out more oil. That data comes from a new independent report on fracking released Wednesday as required by a state law on fracking. Critics of fracking are pushing for a moratorium on the controversial technology. Christopher Martinez reports.
