Inconsistency, secrecy, and sanction-happy accreditation commissions are putting the future of California community colleges at risk. The California State Auditor berated the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools. This same group terminated accreditation at Community College of San Francisco last year. The audit was released Thursday, and outlines irregularities in the group's operations, and even placing family members in the Commission's chain of command. KPFA's Rosalie Atkinson filed this report.
