LAPD Launches Drone Pilot Program

The Los Angeles Police Department now has a new pair of aerial drones that officials say could be used during "tactical events," such as manhunts and standoffs. They're part of a pilot program. Civil liberties advocates and many residents want proof that the new surveillance technology won't be used indiscriminately to spy on citizens, as it was recently in Compton. KPFK's Larry Buhl files this report.
