The Los Angeles Police Department now has a new pair of aerial drones that officials say could be used during "tactical events," such as manhunts and standoffs. They're part of a pilot program. And, LAPD officials say they're going to prove their usefulness before deploying them. Civil liberties advocates and many residents want proof that the new surveillance technology won't be used indiscriminately to spy on citizens, as it was recently in Compton.
