Immigrants Won't Jeopardize Status Applying for Food Stamps

Community organizers and Immigration rights activists joined the Department of Social Services to urge low-income residents of the San Fernando Valley to apply for the CalFresh program. Organizers set out to reassure residents, especially within the immigrant community, that applying for the federally funded food assistance program will not hurt their eligibility for citizenship or permanent legal resident status.
