Chemical Board Recommends Re-Vamp of Refinery Safety Regulation

The US Chemical Safety Board is urging California to create a new system to regulate oil refinery safety, in the wake of last year’s explosion and fire at the Richmond Chevron refinery that sent 15 thousand people to the hospital. That recommendation is part of a draft report on the Richmond refinery fire the Board unveiled Monday. Christopher Martinez reports.
