BART Unions File a Lawsuit Against the Board of Directors

BART’s two largest unions, Service Employees International Union 1021 and Amalgamated Transit Union 1555 filed a lawsuit today against BART’s Board of Directors. The unions believe that the board unlawfully removed a section on paid family medical leave in the unions’ contracts without the unions’ consent. The board says the contested section was accidentally added to the contracts from a clerical error. Christine Hsu reports.
