BART Contract Vote Stirs Union Opposition

The Bay Area Rapid Transit District board of directors has voted to approve a contract with its’ 3 thousand union members, but it’s not the same contract management negotiators signed off on and union members voted to ratify. Management says the contract accidentally included paid family medical leave benefits, and they voted to strip that from the contract. One union leader called the vote an illegal “unfair labor practice.” Christopher Martinez reports.
