Undocumented drivers in California will soon be eligible for drivers licenses, under the recently enacted Assembly Bill 60. But until that law takes effect in 2015, undocumented drivers still face the prospect of being pulled over and having their cars impounded. Advocates for undocumented immigrants are waging a campaign to urge city police and the California Highway Patrol to suspend the practice of impounding the cars of undocumented immigrants.
