Los Angeles City Council Bans Bullhooks for Circus Elephants

The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously approved a ban on the use of bullhooks for circus elephants. Animal rights activists are declaring victory over major circus promoters Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey, both of whom opposed the ban. But, in a last minute cave in to circus interests, the council approved a phase in process for the ban, that could take over three years. Pacifica's Dan Fritz files this report from Los Angeles.
