Environmental advocates in Fresno today called for a moratorium on fracking within the city’s watershed area. They announced a campaign to ask both the Fresno City Council and the Fresno County Board of Supervisors to pass an ordinance placing a moratorium on shale oil extraction technologies until they are shown to be safe and sustainable.
