Conservationists Protest Outside Annenberg Opening Over Ballona Wetlands Project

Conservationists concerned by a plan to build over part of the urban Ballona Wetlands in Los Angeles are staging a protest outside the opening of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. The activists don't oppose the performing arts center. They oppose what they call the influence of Wallis Annenberg's money on the cash-strapped California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The environmentalists say the Department is going along with a bad plan for Wetlands, essentially privatizing a portion of the Wetlands that should be handled with much more care. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from Los Angeles.
