Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom has become the highest elected official in the state to support the legalization of marijuana. Newsom will be heading a blue ribbon task force to study issues in preparation for a ballot initiative to legalize, regulate and tax marijuana, following the lead of recent legalization moves in Washington and Colorado.
