(KPFK News - Los Angeles) South Los Angeles remains tense after a third night of protests calling for justice for Trayvon Martin and demanding respect for the African-American community. LA officials held a midnight press conference to denounce what they call lawlessness that had briefly taken over the Crenshaw district. But in the neighborhood surrounding Leimert Park, the center of black LA, many residents blamed the LAPD for instigating youth and denounced the media for their portrayal of African-Americans as violent thugs. Pacifica KPFK’s Ernesto Arce files this report.
