Prison Mental Health Debated in Court

Lawyers for the Brown Administration want a Federal judge to end court over-sight of California’s prison mental health care. But a lawyer representing mentally ill prisoners says he’s discovering new problems with the quality of mental health care prisons provide, and the federal judge who’ll decide the issue is says the State may have committed a “profound ethical violation” in the case. The issue came up for a hearing in a Federal court Wednesday afternoon. Christopher Martinez reports from Sacramento.
