Lawmakers Approve Expanding Medi-Cal Health Program

State lawmakers took their first vote in a special session to implement the Federal health care reform law in California. Governor Jerry Brown called the session in order to pass measures before the Federal Affordable Care Act takes effect in January. The Assembly Health Committee has passed a bill that would expand California’s Medi-Cal program for poor women and children, seniors and people with disabilities. Christopher Martinez reports from Sacramento.
