Legislative Democrats May Now Have Supermajority Powers, but Might Not Use It

Democratic Assembly leader John Perez is claiming a super-majority in his legislative house after Tuesday’s election. If that claim holds true, Democrats will have a key 2/3 supermajority, bringing them the power to raise taxes and over-ride gubernatorial vetoes. Whether they will use those powers is another story.
