Oakland continued its weeklong effort to rally support for its sports teams today. At Oakland's City Center this afternoon, Mayor Jean Quan hosted a noontime rally complete with live music. With two of the city's major sports clubs considering moves to other Bay Area cities, Mayor Quan says keeping them in Oakland is critical for the city. The Mayor has proposed a new sports and entertainment complex that would include retail and residential space, however it is unclear how such a project would be financed and if it's enough to keep Oakland's teams from relocating.
