Tens of thousands of Mexicans took to the streets of Mexico City’s central square to denounce what they say was widespread electoral fraud.
Despite more than 1,800 reports of voter irregularities during the July 1 election, Enrique Pena Nieto has been declared the winner.
His leftist opponent and runner-up Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador says he will contest the outcome as he did in 2006 when he narrowly lost to current President Felipe Calderon.
Mexicans gathered in major cities around the world to protest the result.
In Los Angeles, several hundred people rallied outside of the Mexican Consulate to say No to Electoral Fraud.
