Governor Brown Signs High-Speed Rail Spending Bill

Governor Jerry Brown has signed a $5.8 billion spending bill to begin construction for California's high-speed rail project. The funding pays for initial construction in the Central Valley, where opposition to the rail system remains high. At an appearance in Los Angeles, Governor Brown expressed full confidence in California's ability to pay for the total bill for the rail line. Estimates have risen to $68 billion. Pacifica's Dan Fritz reports from the signing ceremony in Los Angeles.
