State Lawmakers Want Restrictions On School Suspensions

State lawmakers are considering measures to cut back on suspensions and other harsh disciplinary measures in public schools. The latest move comes in the wake of reports that suspensions disproportionately target students of color and those with disabilities. This week the California Senate Education Committee approved a bill to look at alternatives at schools that suspend more than 25% of their students. Christopher Martinez reports from the State Capitol.
