Oakland Police Department To Miss Court Ordered Deadline For Police Misconduct Probes

The Oakland Police Department has admitted it will not be able to comply with a court-imposed deadline for investigating complaints about police misconduct during last fall’s bloody crackdown on occupy Oakland. The failure raises the prospect that the Oakland Police Department could become the first police department in America to be placed under the authority of a federal receiver.
