Los Angeles Mother Protesting the Foreclosure of Her Home Deported to Mexico

Los Angeles activists are condemning the deportation of Blanca Cardenas, a 37 year-old woman who was arrested last month for protesting what she says was the unlawful foreclosure of her North Hollywood home. Occupy LA activists and immigrant rights advocates announced plans for a major rally and protest after Cardenas was deported to Tijuana on Wednesday night. They say her case covers several issues: an LAPD policy violation, the banks’ refusal to work with struggling homeowners, and the nation’s broken immigration laws. Ernesto Arce files this report from Los Angeles.
